Synchronous Triple Primary Lung Cancers: A Case Report
Synchronous primary lung cancers are relatively rare. The accurate diagnosis remains challenging, despite of the routine use of bronchoscopy and computed tomography (CT) of the chest. Herein we report a case of synchronous triple primary cancers of the right lung in a 72-year-old male patient in whom each tumor presented distinct CT imaging findings.
متن کاملGST gene variants in synchronous colorectal cancers and synchronous association of colorectal cancers with other cancers.
BACKGROUND the present study evaluates genetic polymorphisms of three glutathione S-transferases (GSTM1, GSTT1and GSTP1) in patients with synchronous malignant colorectal tumors and the association of synchronous colorectal cancers with other cancers. MATERIAL AND METHODS from 420 patients with a colorectal cancer admitted to our hospital between 2005-2012, we selected for genetic analysis 20...
متن کاملTriple synchronous primary cancers of rectum, thyroid, and uterine cervix detected during the workup for hematochezia.
Multiple primary cancers are defined as multiple occurrences of malignant neoplasm of different histologic origin in the same individual. The synchronous occurrence of triple distinct cancers in the same patient is very rare. Herein, we report an extremely rare case of synchronous triple primary cancers of the rectum, thyroid gland and uterine cervix; all were detected during the work-up for he...
متن کاملSynchronous triple primary cancers occurring in the stomach, kidney, and thyroid
We report an unusual case of synchronous triple primary cancer of the stomach, kidney, and thyroid in a 50-year-old male patient. Initial esophagogastroduodenoscopy with biopsy for the medical check-up revealed poorly differentiated adenocarcinoma. We performed an abdominal/pelvic computed tomography scan for staging and incidentally found a 1.7-cm exophytic hypervascular mass in the left kidne...
متن کاملTriple synchronous gastrointestinal malignancies: a rare occurrence.
Gastrointestinal cancer is common, and is a significant cause of morbidity and mortality. The synchronous occurrence of two different malignancies is not uncommon, but that of more than two malignancies is extremely rare. Such occurrences often pose diagnostic and therapeutic challenges. We report the case of an elderly man who was previously treated for gastric cancer 13 years ago, and who was...
